About Us
In 2000 I created the webpage www.geocities.com/imanua on Geocities!Yahoo to promote the Manu'a Islands to the Internet community. This site existed for seveal years until Geocities discontinued its free service in October 2009. Working on that page introduced me to HTML and I was hooked. It was basically a self-learning effort and with help from some friends, I was able to put together pictures and information that I hoped would provide visitors to the webpage good information about the Manu'a Islands.
In 2003, I decided to get my own domain and paid the money to build a website. I decided on the name manuatele.net and planned to focus its contents on information that would be useful to both American Samoans living outside Samoa and non-Samoans. I originally thought to duplicate iManua and focus on Manu'a, American Samoa, issues. However, I've expanded the scope to include stories that are of interest to Samoans residing in the United States and other parts of the world.
Manuatele contains an archive of articles and documents from Samoan information sources on the Internet. Manuatele collects and aggregates articles from Samoan news organizations, as well as documents and press releases from governmental and nongovernmental sources.
I also want to provide information that is useful for non-Samoans who want to learn about Samoa and thinking about visiting Samoa for business or pleasure. This site was envisioned as another avenue to bring the following interests together using the power of the Internet.
If you're marketing Samoan products, this site was created for you. You are most welcome to use what's available here to promote your business, make announcements, and voice your opinion about Samoan related subjects.
What issues are affecting American Samoans and Samoan Americans residing in the mainland United States? Who are offering solutions to the issues that are important to Samoans? What solutions do they offer, and how do they affect the Samoan communities and the wider American community? If you can help this site provide insights to those questions, your contribution and cooperation is very much appreciated.

Contribute Articles, Stories, and Helpful Ideas
If you like to write, I encourage you to contribute stories and letters to be included on the Manuatele.net website. Tell me about news and other events in your community.
For posting articles and comments on this site, I really have to take a professional approach to this. I feel that posting anonymous names is not the right way to handle things. The Internet provides everyone an open forum for so much information to spread about, in some cases irresponsibly, without regards to their value, accuracy, or worthiness. So, if you want to reply to an article posted on this site or write an article yourself, please understand that your full name will be required as part of the deal. I appreciate your understanding on this matter.
Also, if you know of any useful information that might help other families or individuals out there, let me know. For example, if you know of a science or sports program in your community to signup children, or scholarships - let me know and I'll post it for others to see. Do you know of someone getting a special promotion, scholarship, enlistment, or in the news - let me know.

Disclaimer
Manuatele is not a news site. My goal is to collect Samoan related stories, information, and links to other sources for the benefit of Samoans and non-Samoans. That would be a more useful service to the visitors and that, I hope, will provide a medium for expanded discussions on issues important to Manu'a, American Samoa, and Samoans living off-island. Articles contributed and published here do not indicate that I support such views. They are published for the benefit of the visitors and are solely the views of the contributors.
Manuatele.net makes no representations whatsoever about any other web site which you may access through this one or which may link to this Site. When you access a non-Manuatele.net web site, you must understand that it is independent from Manuatele.net, and that Manuatele.net has no control over the content on that web site. In addition, a link to a non-Manuatele.net web site does not mean that Manuatele.net endorses or accepts any responsibility for the content, or the use, of such web site. Again, I'll not be responsible for the contents of the sites referenced on this website. Their presence is only for the convenience of visitors and is neither an endorsement or validation of the products and services they provide. Those reponsibilities rest entirely on the respective owners.

Well folks, somehow the idea and concept behind the manuatele.net site must be protected. Because I live off-island, my access to information about Samoa is very limited. Hence, I greatly appreciate the help provided by friends and others for contributing articles, and allowing me to feature photos and news worthy announcements on this site. Thank you very, very much.
