(Posted July 30, 2008:) U.S. Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama is pictured with ISAF Command Sergeant Major Iuniasolua Savusa in front of the ISAF headquarters during Obama's recent visit to Afghanistan. CSM Savusa shared with Obama, Congressman Faleomavaega's regards and best wishes to him on his trip. Faleomavaega had conveyed his regards for Obama in an email message to Savusa prior to Obama's arrival in Afghanistan. Senator Obama was pleased to learn that Faleomavaega knows Savusa and was keeping in contact with him and other soldiers who are serving in combat areas. Obama and Senators Chuck Hagel and Jack Reed who were on an official congressional delegation (CODEL) received a briefing from military leaders in Afghanistan on the condition of the war there. The ISAF (International Security Assistance Force), the multi-national force under NATO that is providing security to the government of Afghanistan, is commanded by US General David McKiernan with CSM Iuni Savusa as its senior enlisted or top non-commissioned officer. NATO's ISAF has approximately 60,000 combined forces from 40 countries in Afghanistan with about 36,000 from the United States. |

Solomona from Congressman Faleomavaega's office shared this with me:
In case you did not see the David Tua vs Saul Montana fight last Saturday night, Congressman Faleomavaega wants to share with you a video clip of the fight. In just 2 minutes and 15 seconds into the fight, Tua knocked out Montana. During an interview after the fight, Tua is quoted saying, "This is not a come back, this is the continuation of my Tua of Duty."
